Changes in Dabbler 2.0.4
------------------------
PRINTING
-GDI printing has now been fixed for the HP series of
printers (tested on 550C, 560C, 660C, and 850C), as
well as the Epson Stylus printer.
-Printing to PostScript printers from Windows 95 has
been fixed. Users of Windows 3.1, however, will
not be able to print to PostScript printers.
-Various problems with flipbook printing has been
fixed. Flipbook cards, their binding width and
page numbers are now being printed properly based
upon the settings in the Flipbook Setup dialog.
-Size to Fit Page has been fixed.
-Sketchpads of resolution other than 72dpi now print
correctly.
-Dabbler 2.0.4 now tries to print as much as it can
even if the "Image does not fit within the printer
page."
-Dabbler 2.0.4 defaults to GDI Printing on Windows.
PLUGINS
-Most 32-bit plugins now work in Dabbler 2.0.4 Windows 95.
-Most 16bit plugins now work in Dabbler 2.0.4 Windows 3.1.
Note: Users of Dabbler 2.0.4 on Windows 95 will only be
able to run 32-bit plugins and users of Dabbler
2.0.4 Windows 3.1 will only be able to run 16-bit
plugins.
WINDOWS 95 RELATED ISSUES
-Fixed the Flipbook Controls palette so that the window
title bar is properly drawn with only the zoom box
(i.e. removed the blank spot reserved for the close
box)
-Fixed the default position of the Flipbook Controls
palette, basing it on the Application window's menu
bar height.
-Fixed various crash bugs related to users clicking the
close box while certain modal dialogs are open,
while sessions are playing and while movies
(flipbooks) are playing. Users will not be able to
quit out of Dabbler using the close box, if the
file menu or File:Exit is disabled.
-In the release version, the Delete key on Win95
brought up the Export to AVI dialog. This is not
supposed to happen and therefore this "feature" has
been removed.
-Fixed the appearance of the Dabbler splash screen
-Scanning is not supported under Windows 95 and NT.
MISCELLANEOUS
-In the Dabbler 2.0 release, if the user was out of
hard drive space and he tried to exit, he would get
trapped in a loop of error alerts and save dialogs.
This has now been fixed.
-The Spacebar now invokes the Grabber tool like it is
supposed to. Choosing a brush tool, then the
stencil tool, and then choosing a brush tool again
would put the user in a state in which he could not
draw. This has been fixed.
-Turning tracing paper on and off would cause users to
lose their changes on the current page.
-If the user double-clicks in the File:Open Browser
dialog before it has completely initialized caused
Dabbler to hang. This has been fixed.
-We now return a more informative dialog when the user
tries to create a sketchpad/flipbook with the same
name as the currently open sketchpad/flipbook.
-Fixed the blanking out of the splash screen upon
launch of Dabbler.
-Fixed various dialog title mistakes and menu update
problems.
-Default the Dabbler.Set file to have No Print Banding
and No Device Dependent Bitmaps checked. Also made
sure that in a new settings file, all brushes
default to the medium size and that the first five
brushes appear on the front of the drawer.
-Default to first font in font menu, if Text Tool is
used before Text Style dialog is accessed.
-If a paper texture library does not have FSPI icons
(libraries which were created using Painter's Paper
Mover), create a DAPI icon from scratch. Fixes
crash bug.
-Problems with copy and paste through the Windows
clipboard have been fixed.
-A crash bug when loading or saving a file in the
Browse Sketchpad dialog has been fixed.
